An Oration on the Sublime Virtues of General George Washington, Pronounced at the Old South Meeting-House in Boston, before his Honor the Lieutenant-Governor, the Council, and the Two Branches of the Legislature of Massachusetts, at their Request, on Saturday, the 8th of February, 1800
Boston: Printed for Young & Minns, and Manning & Loring, [1800]. Disbound. Very Good binding. Item #9767

This address by Massachusetts Congressman was one of a host of eulogies pouring out of printing houses after Washington's death. Though it was issued in more than half a dozen printings in New York, Philadelphia, Dedham, and Boston it remains uncommon in commerce. This copy is one of two issued by Young & Minns in Boston and comports with both Evans 36829 and Stillwell, checklist of Washington eulogies 9(a).
