Light rubbing to the binding; ink notation on the first half title page; toning and occasional early dampstaining to the interior, but all in all a pleasing copy of the final two volumes bound together. Though writing in 17th century, La Fontaine was selectively translated into English by many 18th century writers. This is the "first more or less complete translation" of La Fontaine into English.
