Octavo. 16 pp. Confederate imprint. As issued, stitched in self-wrappers. Minor spotting to the inner margin of the outer pages, as well as some scattered staining to the interior; faint Rebel Archives stamp on the front as well as small 20th century institutional stamp on the last page.

A series of General Orders related to conscription, exemptions, logistics of handling conscription and new conscripts. Notably are the mention of the religious orders exempt from conscription (Friends, Dunkards, Nazarenes and Mennonites) so long as they can provide "a substitute, or on presenting to the enrolling officer a receipt from a bonded Quartermaster for the tax of five hundred dollars." Additionally, there are a series of professions that are exempt under certain circumstances. An interesting document.
