Uncommon pamphlet recounting the details of the collapse of the ceiling of the capitol building in Richmond, killing dozens and injuring about 200 more people. A tragedy precipitated by an overcrowded courthouse resulting from heated disputes over leadership in Reconstruction era Virginia. This copy from the library of Robert Stiles and has his bold ownership name at the top. Stiles was a Confederate officer and author of Four Years Under Marse Robert. Uncommon with salient provenance.
