Father Junipero's Holy Family (from Death Comes for the Archbishop)
Lexington, KY: Anvil Press, 1956. Hard Cover. Near Fine binding. Item #9413
Small quarto. 18 pp. Limited edition, one of 200 copies (Holbrook notes, perhaps in error, that it was an edition of 250). Signed by Carolyn R. Hammer at the colophon. As issued, in paper over boards with title printed in black and red on the front board. Light soiling, but generally a very nice copy, clean throughout.
Designed, printed, and bound by Carolyn Reading Hammer in red and black in Victor Hammer's American Uncial type with title in Civilite. C. R. Hammer was one of the driving forces behind the Anvil Press and the King Library Press collectives in Lexington. A remarkable printer and unquestionably one of the catalysts of the vigorous private press movement in Lexington in the second half of the 20th century. Holbrook, Paul Evans (ed.). An Introduction to Victor and Carolyn Hammer (1995): VI/3.
Price: $250.00
