The committee believes that "it is expedient for the government of the United States to enter into a compromise with the persons claiming lands in the Mississippi territory, under or by virtue of the acts of legislature of Georgia, of the 7th of January, 1795." With supporting documents "shewing, among other things, the evidence of fraud and corruption connected with the original grant of these lands by the state of Georgia." Shaw & Shoemaker 33479.
