A bit of soiling and silverfishing to the top edge of the front board as well as as small spot at the tail of the spine; some evidence of early moisture exposure to the top edge of the textblock, particularly to the top corners; there is faint toning to the top margin of much of the textblock; there is no waviness or swelling; 20th century owner name and stamp on the front endpapers; the dust jacket is generally and lightly soiled and toned at the spine; some chipping to the bottom edge of the spine and generally worn at the edges and folds, but still a solid jacket and a fairly early one at that.
