New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1894. Hard Cover. Very Good binding. Item #7485
12mo. viii, [2], 248 pp. In publisher's cloth. Light rubbing and silverfishing to the binding, but largely a solid and presentable copy; small closed tear to the fore-edge of the first two dozen leaves, affecting only the margin--starting at about 1/4" deep and diminishing to an impression by page 40; contents are clean. There were several printings in both New York and Richmond in 1894 and 1895. Not terribly common in commerce in any of its printings 19th century iterations. A pro-Confederate argument by the U.S. and Confederate politician and serviceman.
