Octavo. 30, [2] pp. Second edition. Removed from nonce volume. Final blank leaf is detaching; text us otherwise loose but holding together; original stitching holes in the inner margin; pencil note and 5-digit ink stamp on the title page; the top corner of the recto of each leaf has manuscript paging likely indicating placement in the nonce volume.

This second edition follows a Lancaster, PA imprint issued the same year. The letter is accompanied by "The Constitution of the Lancaster County Society, for Promoting of Agriculture, Manufactures, and the Useful Arts" and "An Act for the Promotion of Agriculture, Manufactures, and the Useful Arts." Logan was an gentleman farmer, briefly a physician, and a politician. He invested a great deal of energy making his family farm near Philadelphia a model of innovated agriculture. "Over time, for example, he conducted and reported on fourteen experiments to determine the best way to rotate crops. In 1793 Thomas Jefferson proclaimed Logan 'the best farmer in Pensylva both in theory & practice.' He helped form agricultural societies, produced numerous tracts on scientific farming, and was an advocate of raising Merino sheep" (American National Biography).
