Wrappers are a bit soiled and worn at the extremities with some chipping to the edges including loss to the top corner of the front wrapper as well as the bottom corner of the rear wrapper; frontispiece leaf is puckered from the adhesive where the photograph of Slaughter was pasted down; contents are clean. One of Slaughter's earliest publications (1847) reissued after Slaughter's death with a biographical sketch of the author by R. A. Brock. Uncommon, even in this second edition.
