Binding is rubbed with fraying at the corners and spine ends; spine is a bit darkened; hinges are a bit loose, but holding; 20th century owner address label on the front pastedown; front free endpaper is chipped at the fore-edge; contents are largely clean with occasional foxing, spotting; and even toning.
This copy is boldly inscribed by the author on the recto of the frontispiece to Charles A. Briggs, esq. Uncommon with an inscription.
