An interesting sketch recounting the details of the collapse of the ceiling of Capitol building in Richmond, killing dozens and injuring about 200 more people, written nearly 50 years after the fact this offers a much clearer vision of the event than the contemporary accounts. Illustrated by a two reproductions of contemporary engravings. Ownership names of Misses Doswell and the later name of Eppa Hunton IV, grandson of the Confederate General and U.S. Senator by the same name. Pencil bracketing and marginalia by Hunton throughout the text.
