Backed in quarter morocco with red, glazed paper over boards; title in gold on the spine; before the index are found 49 engravings, one per leaf, numbered with Roman numerals; there are an additional 6 engravings--one of which serves as a frontispiece, the remaining five are collected before and one after the index (in Porter's catalogue, he notes that these engravings are bound in the text, not collected at the rear). The binding is generally worn with some chipping at the head of the spine; a tear at the top of the front joint has been efficiently mended; corners worn with fraying; contents clean; a solid copy despite the superficial wear.
