Edinburgh: William Blackwood and Sons, 1915. Hard Cover. Good binding. Item #6215
12mo. 253, [1 (blank)], [2 (ads)] pp. First edition, thus. In publisher's blue cloth with title in dark blue on the spine and the front cover. A fairly fragile copy, as usual; hinges are weak; light edgewear to the binding; contemporary owner name on the front free endpaper; textblock is toned throughout. Given the wartime production this is usually found in particularly fragile condition. Despite its issues, this present copy is better than usually found. A passable copy of the first Richard Hannay novel originally serialized a couple months before publication in Blackwood's Magazine and subsequently brought to a wider popularity by Alfred Hithcock's film adaptation in 1935 that took some artistic license with Buchan's novel.
