San Francisco: James Linden Editions, 1989. Soft Cover. Near Fine binding. Item #5808

Oblong folio. [28] pp. First separate edition, one of 77 copies from an edition of 87. Printed on Rives BFK and stitched into burgundy covers with a printed paper title label; three photographs are dry mounted and each signed below by Mundy. The covers are a trifle sunned near the spine, otherwise, a fine copy of Mundy's triptych that is here coupled with Le Guin's chapter, "Where It Is," from her work "Always Coming Home." Linden remarks in a note, that Mundy had long wanted to "produce a triptych: three photographs taken quickly, with spontaneity as the effective aesthetic binding agent." It was Le Guin's text that proved to be a catalyst that sent out Mundy and Linden out into the Valley on a foggy June morning to take these photographs which Linden brought together with Le Guin's chapter.
