[American Civil War] ADDRESSES DELIVERED BEFORE THE VIRGINIA STATE CONVENTION, FEBRUARY, 1861

Richmond, VA: Wyatt M. Elliott, 1861. Original Sewn Wrappers. Very Good binding. Item #5335

Octavo. 64 pp. First Edition. Bound as issued in stitched wrappers; light soiling as well as some creasing to the wrappers; limited shelfwear; minimal foxing. A very nice copy of an uncommon pamphlet, presenting, as Nevins writes, “fervent pleas that the Old Dominion cast her lot with her Southern sisters” (Nevins II, p. 245) in seceding from the Union. Not unexpectedly, a number of the arguments center around slavery. Uncommon. Sabin 1395.
