New York: Julian Messner, Inc., 1953. Hard Cover. Very Good binding / Very Good dust jacket. Item #4623
Octavo. , 422. pp. Second printing, signed by Freuchen. Publisher's full cloth binding; titled in black on the spine with Viking ship stamped in black on the front cover; corners and spines ends just a trifle frayed and binding is a bit soiled; previous owner name on the half title page else clean. This copy has been married to a dust jacket from the 9th printing; price intact on the front flap; light edgewear. Freuchen was a prolific writer and perhaps most known for his arctic travel memoirs. Given his popularity and how often this title was reprinted, it remains surprisingly uncommon in any edition and all the more so, signed by Freuchen.
