New York: Cupples & Leon Company, 1916. Hard Cover. Very Good binding / near Very Good dust jacket. Item #3142
24mo. First edition, thus. Publisher's paper over boards with two color pastedown on the front cover; binding is remarkably fresh; textblock is very slightly shaken; some minor internal soiling; all in all a very nice copy in dust jacket that is a bit chipped at the spine ends and along the bottom edge of the front panel; the uncommon jacket still presents well; 8 color plates by Gruelle and many black and white in-text illustrations. A very early book by Gruelle some years before his Raggedy Ann series left its indelible mark on children's literature.
