Reverie of Policeman: A Ballet in Three Acts
London: Victor Gollancz Ltd, 1933. Cloth. Very Good+ binding / Very Good dust jacket. Item #11361
Octavo. 127 pp. First edition, first printing. As issued, in linen over boards with printed paper title label on the spine and dust jacket. Foxing to the white cloth binding and textblock edges; dusting to the top edge of the textblock; contents with some minor foxing as well as some offsetting from a newsprint portrait of Wolfe that is laid in; dust jacket has some edgewear and a stain on the front panel with some toning to the spine, nevertheless, it remains a fairly presentable jacket.
A contemporary gift inscription from Berto or Bento to Silvia dated October 2, 1933. Laid in is a letter from Silvia Hamilton that makes a passing reference to Wolfe. Silvia seemed to know Wolfe as she relays have passed a letter from someone else on to him which he kept, even though it wasn't addressed to him. A curiosity, no doubt, but this letter is a charming one.
