Boston: L. Prang and Company, 1878, 1879. Half Leather. Good binding. Item #10993

Quarto. ix, [1], 192; v, [1], 200 pp., 96 plates. Backed in morocco with corners and marbled paper over boards; ex-library with painted numbers on the spine; evidence of pocket removed from the rear fly-leaves. Bindings are a trifle rubbed at the extremities; split to the top of the rear joint of Volume 1; contents are lightly and evenly toned; the chromolithographs, 48 in each volume, show very minor, even toning with only very occasional foxing; they present very well, though there is expected offsetting to the adjacent leaves. A remarkable work that was completed with two more volumes identified as "Series II."
