A Practical Treatise on the Law of Contracts, Not Under Seal; and upon the Usual Defences to Actions thereon
Philadelphia: Grigg & Elliot, 1834. Full Leather. Good binding. Item #10538
Octavo. [4 (adverts)], xv, [2], 1-6, 6-506 pp. Third American edition. In original calf with morocco label on the spine. Binding is somewhat soiled, particularly the rear board where this is a dark stain to the bottom corner; wear to the joints, thought boards are firmly attached; early dampstaining throughout which is generally manifest as rippling to the pages with only occasional tidelines evident; a few owner names on the front endpaper as well as notes and tabulations on the blank leaves at beginning and end of the volumes.
"This is a very comprehensive collection of Cases upon the Law of Contracts, which 'is better adapted to the wants of the practitioner than of the student, fitter for occasional reference than for continuous reading.' As a book of reference it is preeminently better than any existing treatise on the law of Contracts. . . " (Marvin, p. 194). American Imprints 23797.
