A very nice copy of an early reprint of the French-language edition of the second, third, and fourth letters (incorrectly numbered in the book as the first, second, and third) from Cortes to Charles V. Originally issued in Paris 1778, this translation is an abridgment of that done by Francisco Antonio Lorenzana. A handsome volume and not terribly common. Sabin 16953.
